Little
Rock's Premier Men's Barbershop Chorus
FunFest 2011
Each
June, The Diamond State Chorus joins the Fun
City Chorus in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a day of singing
and fellowship, culminating in a public performance that is free
and open to the public. In 2011, FunFest will be held on Saturday,
June 11. The public performance will begin at 5:30 p.m. The
concert will be at the Hot Springs School District Central Office,
400 Linwood Avenue, Hot Springs, AR 71913. The Diamond State Chorus
and the Fun City Chorus will be joined by the Riverblenders
Chorus from Fort Smith, Arkansas. It is expected that seventy
men from the three choruses will be on stage. The massed choruses
will sing four songs together, and then each chorus will perform
three of their favorites. Several quartets will be on hand to
sing also. This is a great chance for fans of four-part, a cappella
harmony, and those who are not familiar with this American musical
form, to experience some top quality entertainment!
Musical
leadership will be provided by Joe
Liles, a noted arranger, singer, director and coach, and former
Executive Director of the Barbershop
Harmony Society. The massed choruses will sing Joe's arrangement
of I Believe in Music as a part of the evening's performance.
